Pesach

You know, it’s rather amazing. Saturday night I went to a passover dinner with friends that was utterly amazing. We had a great time, we had thoughtful conversation, and even when we didn’t agree on subjects discussed, we were respectful. I left feeling uplifted and enlightened and of the opinion that Passover is one of the more relevant religious holidays. Then, tonight I went to my in-laws for their seder, and it was the complete antithesis. I felt like it was a complete waste of my time — superficial, close-minded and insulting. I went downstairs and sat out the duration with my son. We ate goldfish crackers and strawberry cereal bars and had a great time. It’s amazing how it’s all a function of who you’re with.
